Our school, formerly known as Shiuhkuang National Junior High School, was established in August of 1968 during a time when the government was promoting education reform and implementing the nine-year compulsory education program. The school was established in its current location in Fuluol Village, Caotun Township, and accepted graduates from Fu Gong, Zhong Yuan, Tu Cheng, Ping Lin, Ping Ding, Shuang Dong Elementary Schools, as well as some graduates from Caotun Elementary School and Qiaoguang Elementary School. Our school is located on the Zhongtan Highway, in the Caotun Cultural Park, adjacent to the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, Nanhua University of Science and Technology, and Fugong Elementary School. Across the street, there is the Caotun Branch of the National Police Agency, the Performing Arts Center, the Caotun Town Swimming Pool, and the Sports Center. The environment is elegant, the culture is flourishing, and the school is nestled among the Yanfeng Arch and the Huling Mountains, showcasing the beauty of humanity and culture. Our school has an excellent team of teachers and our alumni have served society and made outstanding contributions to their hometowns. On September 21, 1999, our school was struck by the 921 earthquake, and the school building was completely destroyed. Fortunately, with the support of the Tzu Chi Foundation, the new school was built under the planning and design of architect Cai Rongtang from the Shen Zuhai Construction Joint Office and the construction was carried out by New Asia Construction Co., Ltd. Ground was broken in November of 2000 and the new school was completed on May 18, 2002. After the new school was put into use, it had elegant design, technological and humanized facilities and a beautiful campus environment. Due to its outstanding performance, our school was approved by the Nantou County Government as Shiuhkuang Senior High School in August of 2001, making it the first complete high school in Nantou County and the first high school in Caotun Township. The school has continually expanded its hardware facilities, including the opening of a new sports field in 2007, the completion of the lunch kitchen and restaurant in 2008, and the completion of the Science Museum and Karate Hall in 2018. The school has now entered a new milestone. Our school has a junior high division and a senior high division, and enrolls ordinary science students. In 2003 and 2017, the high school division and the junior high school division sports class were established respectively. The school has a total of junior high division, senior high division. |
